Organ Piper Pizza

There's nothing child's play about picking the right restaurant to take the entire family out for dinner. The food has to be able to please palates young and old, while the atmosphere has to be approved for all ages – nothing too snooty for the kids, nothing too outrageously loud for the parents. It's a tough balance, but according to OnMilwaukee readers, the beloved Organ Piper Pizza – located at 4353 S. 108th St. – has figured out this grand dinner dilemma.

The Greenfield pizzeria came away with the title several times in past Best of Dining polls, thanks to its delicious mix of tasty pizza – because who's going to turn down pizza? – and fun recognizable tunes for all ages churned out from the venue's delightfully massive Wurlitzer. And now it's on another winning streak, defending last year's title with a solid win over second-place finisher, AJ Bombers, which tightened the gap to a mere 75 votes.

The competition was even closer in the top five, with the following five restaurants all finishing with 40 votes of one another. Cafe Hollander snagged the bronze, falling just 13 votes short of Bombers – but also a mere eight votes ahead of BelAir Cantina, which beat out the Original Pancake House for fourth by a tiny two votes.

What we can say, this category doesn't kid around.

Runners up:
2. AJ Bombers
3. Cafe Hollander
4. BelAir Cantina
5. Original Pancake House

OnMilwaukee editors' pick: Organ Piper Pizza

Lori Fredrich's pick: AJ Bombers
I don’t have kids, so this pick doesn’t resonate for me on a daily basis. However, when I have other peoples’ kids in tow, I have a tendency to gravitate toward spots like AJ Bombers, where the rocketship peanut launchers always delights. In fact, it’s become a tradition to take my nieces and nephews there to enjoy burgers and custard while marveling at the graffiti and flying p-nuts.
