In Dining

It was close, but P.F. Chang's edged out its neighbor, The Cheesecake Factory, as Milwaukee's favorite sit-down chain restaurant.

Milwaukee's best sit-down chain, 2010: P.F. Chang's China Bistro

The votes are in, and the winners have been selected for OnMilwaukee's Best Dining 2010. The results of this readers' poll, including an editors' pick, are available in this series of articles that run all October long during Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com.

If this poll had taken in place in Florida, lawyers would spend months going over each and every ballot.

PF Chang's -- which has one location in the area (at Mayfair) -- wins the 2010 "Best Sit-Down Chain" restaurant honor, finishing just one vote ahead of the Cheesecake Factory, the defending champion which has a location just across the Mayfair Mall parking lot.

Meanwhile, the editorial staff at OnMilwaukee.com was smitten with Devon Seafood Grill, which boasts a central location at Bayshore Town Square -- not far from another Cheesecake Factory -- for its sole Wisconsin location.

OnMilwaukee.com editors' choice: Devon Seafood Grill

Runners-up:
2. The Cheesecake Factory
3. The Capital Grille
4. Maggiano's Little Italy
5. Rock Bottom Brewery

deaddolly, regarding the dessert, "Jesus" (i can only assume by your quotes this was not his name, but what you are calling him simply because he's "hispanic") probably just wanted your narrow minded belligerent party to get the eff out of the place. "Paco" probably thought no big "loose". based on this survey "Juan" was "definately" right.

lol...@ jkat I could care less who waits on us where, but when "Jesus" can't even pronouce the dishes the restaurant is serving -- it definately looses something in the translation. It was the fact he argued with everything we ordered and then didn't want us to order dessert. I will never go back. As for the Cheesecake Factory....overpriced, overrated -- but people keep packing the place.

Agree with OnMKE staff about Devon. Although last time I was there, the food was very good but the staff seemed a bit "lackluster". Did Devon ever start paying their rent again at Bayshore? http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/business/92445189.html Not a fan of PF Changs but how could Cheesecake Factory rank so high? Everything tastes bland there. Even the cheesecake. They probably scored points because people in WI buy into the belief the "more food = good restaurant"

Hurrah! Down with the disgusting cheesecake factory. Lettuce wraps and garlic noodles are tops.
