Your votes are in, Milwaukee, and you have selected the winners of OnMilwaukee's Best Dining 2011. We're announcing the results of this readers' poll, including our editors' pick, in a series of articles that run all October long during Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com.

For the fifth straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com, presented by Concordia University. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2011."

If you're a purist, you can claim that Milwaukeeans embrace the City of Festivals for the opportunity to embrace ethnic culture and amazing live music.

We, however, think it's all about the food. And maybe the beer.

In this "new for 2011" category, the readers of OnMilwaukee.com picked the Wisconsin State Fair as the best festival and event food by a two-to-one margin. We agree. State Fair offers something for everyone, and we're not just talking about food on a stick and deep-fried butter.

Of course, you can't ignore those treats, either. This year's list included dozens of eclectic stick foods, from apple pie to Xango (deep fried cheesecake).

And lest us forget about State Fair's legendary cream puffs and flavored milk. Just try to leave the festival grounds hungry.

Is it August yet?
