Milwaukee's best fish fry, 2010: Lakefront Brewery Palm Garden
The votes are in, and the winners have been selected for OnMilwaukee's Best Dining 2010. The results of this readers' poll, including an editors' pick, are available in this series of articles that run all October long during Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com.
Finding a fish fry in Milwaukee isn't difficult. Stroll down just about any street on a Friday night and you're bound to find at least one place serving up this culinary staple of our city.
Picking a favorite, though, is a little more difficult. Everybody has their own preference based on location, seasoning, type of fish and side dishes.
We weren't too surprised that Lakefront Brewery Palm Garden took the top spot in our poll again this year. We were a little surprised with how large the margin was (24.5 percent of the vote).
With the Brewhouse Polka Kings setting the mood, the Palm Garden's Fish Fry has become a can't-miss on Friday nights and regularly fills up fast.

just had Brocach the other day and it is really good...all you can eat too! dont much care for their slaw though...and hihat garage has a very good fish fry too...2 HUGE pieces that are pretty tasty!
Mmm, fish fry. Was disappointed recently at Triskele's, over battered/fried and not enough fish. Was pleasantly surprised at Stenny's; good flavor, good quality. Used to go to Don's Pub on Lincoln but our last few trips were below par. Re this list, Brocach is great, as is Hi Hat.
Be sure to try the smelt at Stonefly. And if it's on the menu that night, get the panko crusted blue gill as well.
