Milwaukee's best hot dogs/sausages, 2010: The Dogg Haus
The votes are in, and the winners have been selected for OnMilwaukee's Best Dining 2010. The results of this readers' poll, including an editors' pick, are available in this series of articles that run all October long during Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com.
You might think it's just an American favorite but at The Dogg Haus, you can take a culinary trip around the world all on the hot dog bun.
Grilling Vienna Beef links on poppy seed buns, you can choose from the Tex-Mex (salsa, cheddar cheese, sour cream and jalapenos), Berlin's Best (sauerkraut, onions and mustard), The Hollywood (nacho cheese and jalapenos) or the Atlantic City (sauerkraut, onions, mustard and relish).
Not only is there a choice of toppings, but The Dogg Haus plates up a selection of dogs, as well. There's the classic Vienna Beef, spicy Atomic Dog or a ¼-lb. Doggfather. Yes, they offer Italian and Polish sausages but there's something tried and true about the traditional hot dog that just can't be beat.
If you'd prefer to skip the beef, opt for a meatless vegetarian version still available with your choice of international preparations. Open until midnight on weekdays and 2 a.m. on weekends, you can grab a Dogg Haus dog as a snack, dinner or late-night eats.

I agree with milwgoglover. Boring dogs on generic buns. I've had better at ball parks!
I agree with Fratelli's. Dogg Haus is the best of the ones listed, but Fratelli's is simply awesome. But thats alright, I'll be more than happy if it stays the best kept secret in Milwaukee.

I would just like to extend a huge thank you to the voters who made this 2nd win possible. I would also like to thank my great staff for all of their continued hard work and dedication. It is because of our customers loyalty and my employees hard work, that we continue to exist, grow, and succeed. Once again, thank you Milwaukee!
You have got to be kidding me!!!! In a town known for its sausage and German/Polish heritage and with Usinger's still here (many of the good sausage shops are gone), we pick a store that sell Vienna sausages? You might as well eat Tupperware!!!
Mazen's staff is awesome!!! His dogs are top notch, and you can't help but have a good time there!! Congrats!
