Zaffiro's Pizza took home the top honors for Best Pizza in Milwaukee.

Milwaukee's best pizza, 2013

For the seventh straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com, presented by the restaurants of Potawatomi. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2013."

Milwaukeeans love their pizza, clearly, as 11 different restaurants received hundreds of votes in 2013, but of course only one can claim the top spot – and that was Zaffiro's Pizza.

The restaurant, located at 1724 N. Farwell Ave. remains family owned and operated and the thin-crust slices have tickled taste buds for 57 years.

You can dine in or have it delivered and of course, you can choose your own toppings from the standard cheese and sausage to the EBF – or "Everything But Fish." Or, add the anchovies! Pies come in three sizes – small (10 inches), medium (12) and large (14).

Transfer Café was the runner up in this heated race, while the staff at OnMilwaukee.com went a different route.

I believe that's Maria's Pizza's sign on 51st & Forest Home. My personal favorite in da MKE!
