Milwaukee's best Wings, 2012

For the sixth straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com, presented by Concordia University. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2012."

Your votes are in, Milwaukee, and you have selected the winners of OnMilwaukee's Best Dining 2012. We're announcing the results of this readers' poll, including our editors' pick, in a series of articles that run all October long during Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com.

For the fifth straight year, the Buffalo Wild Wings – with a number of area locations – has been voted as having the best wings in Milwaukee.

You can order anywhere from a dozen to 50 at a time of the traditional New York-style buffalo wings, or the boneless option. There are also 16 different sauces on the menu if you don't want to go with the dry seasoning, and your choice of ranch, bleu cheese, and celery or carrots come along with your order.

Runner-up Points East Pub has been gaining over the years, however, losing out by just four tenths of a percentage point this time around. Your third place finisher – Club Garibaldi in Bay View – was the top pick of OnMilwaukee.com's editorial staff.

OnMilwaukee.com editors' choice: Club Garibaldi

Runners-up:

2. Points East Pub
3. Club Garibaldi
4. Leff's Lucky Town
5. Elsa's
6. Wicked Hop
7. Major Goolsby's
8. Pizza Shuttle
9. Hooligan's
10. Beer Belly's
11. McGillycuddy's
12. Karma Bar and Grill
13. Bougey's
14. Libby Montana

I find the other comments pretty interesting. I have been to a wing contest where Tomken's was the winner when put up against points east and some other forgettable restaurants. I think people are voting on mediocre tap beer and most TVs. In terms of quality the size of the wings at Tomkens are in the top tier. Secondly they are cooked to perfection and finally worth noting that the chef comes up with some pretty creative concoctions on Mondays and Thursdays (correct me if wrong). that you can't get elsewhere. (Swinal tap!!) I haven't been there in quite a while but I am astounded they aren't even on the list. Wow That's akin to having a best pizza list with no classic slice.

Wow! This list is terrible. First off, you don't even mention Tomken's Friendly Fried Chicken, home of "The Wing King" who won the past two years in a row and will continue to dominate. BW3's sucks, unless you want terrible sauces and even worse prices. Points East and Club Garibaldi are amazing in their own way. I just can't believe you would not have Milwaukee's current Wing King's bar/restaurant on this list. Terrible article... If you want some of the best wings in town come visit "THE WING KING" of Milwaukee over at Tomken's on 80th & Greenfield Ave.

What an awful list. Who the hell are you polling for these numbers? Certainly not true wing eating enthusiasts. As a previous poster stated you are missing one of the best places I have ever eaten at by not having Tomkens Friendly Fried Chicken on that list. Unlike many places they have huge fresh chicken that you can get battered or grilled, a continuously updated list of unique wing sauces, not the same old tired buffalo/ bbq every night, and two, not one weekly wing special nights. Come to the next wing fest and judge for yourself and talk to people who really care about wings.

This needs to be organized between wings with sauce and dry rubbed wings. They are totally different and people with totally different taste preferences will like each different kind. For instance, I love wings, make them at home, will try them anywhere. I heard Points East when the best in Milwaukee, but I didn't even think they were anything to write home about. They weren't prepared the way wings are prepared. I can understand how people like their wings that way, but I just don't. Oh and get BW3 off this list. Seriously? It's making a joke of your website.

This is an awful flashback to the Onion Article "Olive Garden Voted #1 Italian Restaurant by Milwaukee Magazine." BW3s has absolutely NO meat in their wings. It's all breading and sauce. They're AWFUL. If you're going to go to a crappy chain restaurant for wings, you might as well go to Quaker Steak. BW3s is AWFUL. If you really love wings, do yourself a favor and make the drive down to Garibaldi's.
