For the seventh straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com, presented by the restaurants of Potawatomi. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2013."

Everyone can calm down and step off the ledge. For the first time, you’ve unseated Buffalo Wild Wings and voted Point’s East Pub as Milwaukee’s best wings.

It was an extremely tight race, and yes, we saw your Facebook outrage over a national chain taking out a local corner bar in this contest. And hey, we agree, Point’s East blows away BW-3 – although Club Garibaldi is our favorite – but it’s not our job to tell you who to vote for.

Points East’s wings are meaty and, thanks to the grilling, the skin has a nice snap when you bite into it, revealing the juicy, tender meat within. The dry rub-style spices on the outside give these wings a subtle but, over time, powerful smokey kick.

Yes, they’re much, much better than those chain wings. After five years of picking those, we’re glad you’ve seen the light, too.
