Charro to replace Umami Moto Brookfield
Charro is ready for a second location in Brookfield.

A second Charro Restaurante will open at 17800 Bluemound Rd., the site of the now closed Umami Moto Brookfield. Umami Moto closed Sunday.

According to a news release, the new Charro Restaurante is "slated to open mid-summer" and "will cater to the suburban demographic as it will encompass the same fun energy, unique ambiance and exceptional cuisine of its original Downtown location," at 729 N. Milwaukee St.

Also announced, owner Michael Polaski is forming SURG Restaurant Group, with business partners Thomas Wackman and Omar Shaikh.

I love the downtown Umami but never went to the Brookfield location because it still had the "stink" of the failed Monsoon on it. I hope the new Charro does well with the entire original Charro staff behind it.
