East Side Classic Slice is no more
For the sixth straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com, presented by Concordia University. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2012."
The East Side's Classic Slice, 1609 E. North Ave., is officially closed.
The popular pizza stop posted this farewell earlier today via its Facebook page:
"Hey, all Classic Slice North Ave is officially CLOSED FOREVER! We couldn't officially say it until today so I apologize if you tried to reach us yesterday or today. Thank you to all our friends, family and customers!"
The North Avenue Classic Slice opened in January 2011. Its original location, 2797 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. in Bay View, remains open.
It had to be tough to stay open, what with 800 college students living right across the street.
Disappointing for Riverwest and the east side. Never thought Ian's was that great and the other alternatives are either bad delivery places or Zaffiro's which isn't for everybody.
Not surprising, it's one of the most flavorless pizzas out there. Just because their slices are huge and piles with too many toppings, doesn't mean they're good. Big mediocre over-topped pizza.
Haven't been to that location but Classic Bayview makes the best pizza in my humble opinion
Loved that place when it opened up. Always grabbed slices from there and not Ians. Quality/care went downhill the last 3 times I went there and was so disappointed I wrote them an email. Never heard back. Never went back. Too bad, they were my Go To pizza place.
