There’s a new venue coming to Walker’s Point. Fiesta Cafe is slated to open sometime this spring at 1407 S. 1st St. in the former home of Wayward Kitchen.

The new cafe is owned by Valdemar Escobar, long-time restaurateur and owner of the Fiesta Garibaldi brand and six area restaurants including Fat Valdi’s on Bluemound and Chicken Palace (with locations in Kenosha, Milwaukee and Waukesha).

Fiesta Cafe will depart fairly significantly from the brand's other concepts, offering breakfast and lunch as well as a full bar, which is expected to be open in the evening.

The menu will feature fresh, inventive fare with a focus on organic produce. Offerings will include items like juices, smoothies, and drinks made with fresh fruit. There will also be yogurt, pastries, sandwiches and a variety of Mexican inspired dishes. Aesthetically, the space itself will receive a refresh, including new windows and the addition of new kitchen equipment.

Additional information about Fiesta Cafe is forthcoming. Watch OnMilwaukee for additional details as they become available.
