Fratellos Waterfront Restaurant, designed by Kahler Slater, in Milwaukee's Third Ward has been named one of the "Top Projects of 2008" by Wisconsin Builder magazine and was honored with a Silver Award from the American Society of Interior Design -- Wisconsin Chapter competition.

Milwaukee's is the fifth Fratellos location for the Oshkosh-based hospitality operator, the Supple Group. It opened in April 2008.  While each restaurant has its own unique design, all have a connection to a waterfront; in this case, the Milwaukee River.

The restaurant's curved walls and paths are reminiscent of waves of water. VJS Construction Services of Pewaukee, served as the general contractor.

The 8,500-sq. ft. restaurant is located on the main floor of a mixed-use building at 102 N. Water St.

"We are honored to have won these awards," said Jay Supple, CEO of Supple Group. "Congratulations go to the entire team for making this project a tremendous success."

The project will be featured in the special May issue of Wisconsin Builder magazine.
