The wait is drawing to a close for Good City Brewing Co.’s expansion at 2108 Farwell Ave., which includes a brand new event space called Good City Hall, as well as a snazzy rooftop patio.

According to information from co-owner David Dupee, the project, which was announced in April, is on target for a July 1 launch, meaning there will be plenty of time for leisurely afternoons sipping brews on the rooftop this summer.

There’s also plenty of time now to book events, including corporate gatherings and weddings, for Good City Hall. The event space, which accommodates 150 guests, will feature garage doors for open-air dining, its own private bar with eight Good City Brewing taps, along with a second kitchen and new banquet menu.

Banquet menu

Among the menu items created by Chef Guy Davies are items like a vegetable pot pie with mushrooms, carrots, potatoes and English peas in a flaky pastry crust served with spicy tomato relish and grilled asparagus ($28 per person); pan seared Scottish salmon with farro pilaf and balsamic glaze ($32 per person); and braised duck leg with red wine, mushroom, shallots, thyme and mashed potatoes ($32 per person).

There are also lamb chops with lavender salt, bourbon sweet potato puree, seasonal vegetables and hard cider sauce; filet mignon with au jus and garlic herb butter served with creamy potato mash and seasonal vegetables ($39 per person); and grilled ribeye with oven-roasted potatoes, lump crab with garlic and asparagus and tarragon bearnaise ($48 per person).

All entrees are served with a choice of salad, including house, Greek or Caesar options, along with shrimp, grapefruit and spinach salad with red onion, leaf spinach and Dijon champagne vinaigrette or quinoa salad with chickpeas, tomatoes, corn, Kalamata olives, lemon, olive oil and black pepper.

Fish fry

A classic Milwaukee fish fry is also available as an option for events. Good City's traditional fish fry features Atlantic cod battered in its Good City Pils, served up with two potato sides (choices include curry fries, German potato salad, boiled red potatoes with butter and herbs and potato pancakes), cole slaw, marble rye and condiments ($29 per person). An additional fish option is available for an extra $5 per guest.

Choices include panko breaded lake perch, baked Scottish salmon with balsamic glaze, cornmeal coated fried smelt with garlic dipping sauce, pan fried barramundi with olive oil and black pepper or freshwater trout in lemon butter sauce with capers.

Reservations for Good City Hall are currently available for dates beginning in July. Call (414) 539-4343 for additional information.
