Hamburger Mary's to open before the end of the month
As we told you in April, the Hamburger Mary's franchise will open its 10th location at 2130 S. Kinnickinnic Ave., the former home of Omega Burger at the corner of Bay Street and Kinnickinnic Avenue in Milwaukee's Bay View neighborhood.
Today, we received word that the location will open at the nearly 3,000-square foot space "sometime before the end of the month."
Hamburger Mary's will post the official date on its Facebook page. You can see construction photos there too.

Stopped by for the Grand Opening and LOVED it!! The Milwaukee owners also own the Hamb.Mary's in Chicago, and are VERRRRRY professional/picky about getting things done "correctly/perfectly!!" The food was AWESOME, presented nicely, but a bit PRICEY, especially for FRUGAL Milwaukeeans;) The atmosphere is meant to be "campy", and FUN, without offending anyone, and EVERYONE is Welcome (Yes, even straight laced"CLOSED-MINDED" verydrunk2, and his kids!!) C'mon folks..it's 2011...get with the program..YES, gay people are FINALLY being allowed to assimilate, and "Blend in" w the breeder masses:) LOL I just hope that the location history on KK and Beecher doesnt prove to haunt these owners too, like it did to Omega and BurgerKing;(

How in the world am I supposed to explain this place to my kids. It's like a strip club in a sense. It's a nuisance and placed right in my backyard. I am sorry but this is not the type of people I want in Bay View even though they are EVERYWHERE now. If you are that way fine but don't let it affect my kids.

I'm not gay but have friends/family... anyway, I just don't see the allure. It seems to me like building a hamburger theme restaurant around a gay pride parade on the Disney channel. Besides, gay-specific places are becoming less and less... there isn't the same need to have a gay ghetto anymore... at least in Milwaukee or other large/medium cities around the country.

I disagree, Bayviewboozer. This place will gain a huge draw from the Milwaukee gay community, which is heavily concentrated just north in Walker's Point.
