Pleasant Kafe, a coffee shop and wine bar, will open later this summer in the former Dentice Bros. Italian Sausage shop, 1600 N. Jackson St.

"We are planning to open in mid-to-late August," says co-owner Lorna Stone. "Restoring the building has had some surprises, but we are getting through them."

Stone owns the business with her son, Geoffrey, and Eric Seegers. Stone previously owned a coffee / gift shop in Elkorn.

Pleasant Kafe will offer Valentine Coffee, scones, pastries, smoothies, parfaits, tapas, pickled vegetables, assorted nuts and fruits, wine and beer.

"We will add other items along the way," says Stone.

The cafe will focus on using Wisconsin products, including Peter Sciortino’s bakery items.

The indoor space will accommodate about 35 people and some outside seating will be available.

"We are a work-in-progress and are very excited about what Pleasant Kafe will be adding to the neighborhood," says Stone.

Stay tuned for more information about Pleasant Kafe later this summer.
