There's another new restaurant opening near Downtown.
Luna Café and Lounge is under construction at the convergence of the Milwaukee and Menominee Rivers in the new First Place on the River development at 106 W. Seeboth St. in Walker's Point.
According to Luna's Web site, "Cafe Luna will provide a comfortable and accommodating space to relax along the river at the First Place on the River public Riverwalk." The site continues, "you can enjoy the fabulous views of the water and the Downtown Milwaukee skyline. Luna will have a full-package atmosphere with drinks, music, desserts and spectacular views. Luna is a place for any mood - a low-commitment, unassuming, chill yet celebratory place."
Johnsen-Schmaling Architects is handling the project that is owned and managed by Megan McCormick.
Cafe Luna targets November 15 for an opening. Jazz bassist John Price is scheduled to perform.
Luna will be open Tuesday-Sunday with live music Thursday-Saturday and eventually growing, it hopes, Wednesdays and Sundays also.
