Move over wine, this is Brew City, and if we're pairing anything with our cheese it's going to be beer.
In a very 'Sconie-centric event, the Milwaukee Public Market hosts "Mooo & Brew" tonight, May 1, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The West Allis Cheese & Sausage Shoppe, which has a sister store at the market called Taste of Wisconsin, offers up some of our state's finest cheeses to pair and taste with craft beers from Lakefront and Furthermore Breweries.
Between samples, chat with local cheesemakers as well as Pam Percy and Martin Hintz, the authors of "Wisconsin Cheese: A Cookbook and Guide to the Cheeses of Wisconsin." There's also a cooking demo by Executive Chef Jack Kaestner of Oconomowoc Lake Club.
The proceeds from this evens benefit the Hunger Task Force.
In the meantime, read our upcoming interview with Hintz about "Wisconsin Cheese."
