Here is the Riverwest Co-op's phone number, (414) 264-7933, and here is why you want it: As of Monday, Oct. 1 the co-op delivers its deliciously prepared vegetarian and vegan fare right to your door step.
Being the environmentally conscious group that it is at the Co-op located at 733 E. Clarke St., all deliveries are done via bicycle, limiting the delivery zones to Riverwest, the UWM neighborhood and select areas of Downtown. You can ask if your address qualifies when you call to place an order.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Co-op's menu, you can peruse the made-to-order sandwiches, soups, desserts, smoothies and breakfast items -- which are now available daily, until 11 a.m. on weekdays and 2 p.m. on weekends -- here.
Delivery hours are Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. (with a one-hour break between 3 and 4 p.m.) and Saturdays, 5 to 9 p.m. All deliveries add $2 to the bill and although cash is preferred, credit cards are accepted.
Thank you Riverwest Co-op for your dedication (the staff is all volunteer) and congrats on your third birthday yesterday!

The Riverwest Co-op is a beautiful place. It's a wonderfully restored building, and it has great atmosphere. It's got a cool vibe about it. As a carnivore, however, I'm waiting for the day it offers a small selection of free-range meats. I would make the cafe a regular destination if meat items were offered on its menu. You can only doctor up tofu so far.
