What’s better than one Ruckus? Apparently two.

The owners of Colectivo have been working since last spring to open their new fast casual burger and ice cream concept, The Ruckus, at 4144 N. Oakland Ave. That location is likely to open around the holidays, according to information from Scott Schwebel, the vice president of brand, marketing and retail for the popular coffee company.

Now, it looks as if another location for the restaurant is in the works for Wauwatosa. According to city documents filed this week, the site for the new restaurant will be 8334 W. North Ave., at the former site of the Wauwatosa Gas station.

Schwebel says that planning is only in the very early stages, but  he says the location is "a great little gem of a building and would be a very fun opportunity to reinvent the former Tosa Gas on behalf of the neighborhood."

Renderings show a repurposed structure with significant preservation of the architectural integrity of the building. Plans filed with the city indicate that the build-out, which is meant to be pedestrian-friendly, would also include significant space for bicycle parking.

The Ruckus is billed as a classic "neighborhood ice cream and burger stand" which will offer a small selection of grilled items, custom-made ice cream and housemade churros. According to plans, both indoor and outdoor seating will be available, with total accommodations for up to 160 diners.

The Ruckus would be open 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
