Most Milwaukeeans love their custard, and in this town, we have no problem finding it at Kopp’s, Leon’s, Bella’s or oodles of other neighborhood custard stands. However, some people are less enthused about the thick, rich frozen treat and prefer the ice cream available at Dairy Queen, 31 Flavors or Cold Stone Creamery.

For the record, custard is similar to ice cream, but includes eggs in addition to cream and sugar. Although Wisconsin is one of the country’s Custard capitals, the icy indulgence was actually invented in Coney Island in 1919.

What are your thoughts? Custard or no custard? Sound-off, Milwaukee, and then go out for a cone of something.

Up with custard. Custard is much more satisfying than regular ice cream. If you’re going to indulge, might as well go all the way with a big cone of custard.

No thanks, custard. Custard is much higher in fat and just not worth it. Regular ice cream -- whether it's hand-packed or soft serve -- is lighter and tastier and I don’t feel as gross after I eat it.
