The new Stacked opens in July. |

It's been only six months since The Social closed its doors for good in the Fifth Ward, but The Iron Horse Hotel's Tim Dixon is working hard to reopen the space at 170 S. 1st St. by July.
His concept is called Stacked, a bar featuring "large format sharing beers" and a restaurant specializing in upscale burgers stacked high with Wisconsin grass-fed Fountain Prairie Farms beef and artisan Wisconsin cheeses.
The bar indulges in two happy hours -- 4 to 6 p.m. and a late-night one from 10 p.m. to midnight -- and has an accessible but interesting wine list. There are also "stacks" of nostalgic beers in cans and a Milwaukee morning staple: Bloody Marys with all the fixings.
The rest of the dining menu is rounded out with sides and salads (vegetarian options available) as well as specialty shakes, like the Cream City Vanilla and Golden Cadillac, which come virgin or with booze.
The large outdoor patio along 1st Street, known as the Stacked Deck, will be dog friendly.

I don't really understand what the big deal is. Their are only a handful of restaurants in Milwaukee that allow dogs, so if you don't like dogs, just stay inside, or go somewhere else. I will be stopping by with my small, well behaved, non-drooly little pup. I too hope that people with annoying, un-trained and barking creatures will stay home. I think we should all be able to find a happy medium here.

OMG.... Seriously people?!?! Quit your bitching! Look around at other cosmopolitan cities, and our 4-legged friends are welcome many places! Congrats to Mr. Dixon for opening up a new place...in an area which needs something! Also...for having the kahunas to reach out and make his patio dog friendly. I'll definitely be visiting there!

I am so SICK of everyone complaining about dogs, smoking, the whole litany of kvetching. Learn how to get along with other humans or JUST STAY HOME!!!

I heard they're hiring off duty K-9 patrol dogs to work as little doggie bouncers.
