Pinching pennies 'til payday? Or just looking for something new this lunch hour? Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21, presents "The $5 Lunch Challenge."

This week we asked Alice, a Milwaukee Downtown Public Service Ambassador, to find lunch for under $5. Is it possible? And how. Check out this week's challenge winner.

Steamer's Coffee Box Lunch Special
624 N. Water St.

So much more than a coffee shop, Steamer's Coffee offers numerous tasty bites for lunch under $5.

The box lunch special is an especially good deal, including your choice of sandwich on your choice of bread for only $4.29.

Try the turkey and jack, roast beef and cheddar, ham and swiss or three cheese sandwich. Homemade bread choices include white, wheat, honey oat and marble rye.

All sandwiches come with lettuce and tomato on the side, a choice of chips, potato salad or pasta salad and a chocolate chip walnut cookie for dessert.

And while you're there, order up one of your favorite coffee treats.

Box lunch orders need to be in by noon the day of your lunch, so call (414) 277-7679, have them fax you an order form.

Return it by fax to (414) 277-8351.
