The Yard is officially open
There's a new patio in town, but it's no typical patio. This is The Yard.
And while I haven't seen the completed product yet, pictures say it all. And, many thanks to the Iron Horse Hotel for sending these over.
Located on the west side of The Iron Horse Hotel, The Yard -- which officially opens today -- is an outdoor lounge and bar with views of the Menominee River, Downtown Milwaukee and the sparkly 6th Street Viaduct. If it's anything like the rest of the place, which it certainly seems like, it's gonna be awesome.
It is 4,600-sq. ft. of outdoor dining, drinking and hanging out space. And, seriously, pictures are worth a thousand words. So, check out the above and before the summer slips away get to The Yard.
It's open 4-11 p.m. daily, weather permitting, with extended hours coming soon. Beginning next weekend, DJs will spin on the Yard on Fridays and Saturdays and bands will make appearances throughout the summer.

It's Walker's Point and it is a beautifully designed space place. The staff is great, too!

The Yard has a full bar including draft and bottled beers, full line of mixers and top-shelf cocktails and coming soon buckets of bottled beer and large-format sharing bottles of sangria and vodka lemonade. Come check out Wine on Wednesday specials and Thursday Bike Night. Feedback welcome!

I was there last weekend. The view of the 6th Street Viaduct was beautiful.

Word is they are putting together a patio drink menu. If it's anything like the drinks inside we'll be in for a treat.
