There are many ways to screw up a Thanksgiving turkey. You can forget to thaw it properly. You can overcook it and make it too dry. You can leave stuff inside the body cavity.
Or, if you're frying the thing, you could cause harm to the bird, yourself or others.

i've fried a turkey every year for the past three years. never had a problem. only fill the pot to the line. keep your thermometer in the pot and watch it, if it goes past 350 turn it down. ALWAYS TURN THE BURNER OFF BEFORE YOU DROP THE TURKEY INTO THE POT. trust me i'm a professional!
