The Westown Farmers' Market kicks off on Wednesday, June 1 at Zeidler Union Square, 301 W. Michigan St.
The market offers a variety of lunch, prepared food and handcrafted art and jewelry, every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Oct. 26.
New this year, the market will feature a variety of food trucks, including Dongers: A Wisconsin Thing, Eats and Treats, Gouda Girls and Milwaukee Coffee Peddlers.
Patrons will also be able to enjoy the additional seating and lawn games courtesy of Creative Alliance Milwaukee's The Spot 4 MKE, Southwest Airlines and Project for Public Spaces.
New vendors at the market include A Happy Thought Indeed and Soap of the Earthand as well as prepared food from Cake My Design, Clock Shadow Creamery, Cream City Caramels and Confections, Decova’s Bountiful LLC, Diana and Daughters, Just Around a Corner and Mavra’s Greek Oil. Lori is an avid cook whose accrual of condiments and spices is rivaled only by her cookbook collection. Her passion for the culinary industry was birthed while balancing A&W root beer mugs as a teenage carhop, fed by insatiable curiosity and fueled by the people whose stories entwine with each and every dish. She’s had the privilege of chronicling these tales via numerous media, including OnMilwaukee and in her book “Milwaukee Food.” Her work has garnered journalism awards from entities including the Milwaukee Press Club.
When she’s not eating, photographing food, writing or recording the FoodCrush podcast, you’ll find Lori seeking out adventures with her husband Paul, traveling, cooking, reading, learning, snuggling with her cats and looking for ways to make a difference.
