The coronavirus pandemic has changed our everyday life, but it doesn't need to change who we are. So, in addition to our ongoing coverage of the coronavirus, OnMilwaukee will continue to report on cool, fun, inspiring and strange stories from our city and beyond. Stay safe, stay healthy, stay informed and stay joyful. We're all in this together. #InThisTogetherMKE

One of the things I’ve missed most about social distancing is my monthly wing night with a friend.

Of course, the wings are only part of that experience, which also comes with sides of beer, camaraderie and socializing. But since the socializing is out, the wings and beer at home will have to do for now.

With that in mind, here are some places around town where you can still get top-notch wings via carryout.

Club Garibaldi
2501 S. Superior St., (414) 483-6335
clubgaribaldi.com

Club Garibaldi is expected to reopen the first week in August and the grilled wings there are some of the best in town. Wednesday is wing day if you're looking for a deal. Call ahead; you can get them to-go.

Leff's Lucky Town
7208 W. State St., Wauwatosa, (414) 258-9886
leffs.com

While you can’t enjoy the great patio as the weather wises up, you can be thankful that Leff's is offering it full menu – wings included – for carry-out and curbside pick-up every day from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Points East Pub
1501 N. Jackson St., (414) 277-0122
thepointseastpub.com

Points East – which makes Milwaukee’s best wings, according to OnMilwaukee readers – has those wings for you for curbside pick-up weekdays, from noon to 9:45 p.m. Call ahead to place your order.

Spitfire’s on State
5018 W. State St., (414) 777-5060
Spitfireswi.com

Monday is 75-cent wing night from 3 until 10 p.m. at Spitfire’s, even when it’s only open for curbside pickup. Order in fives or sixes and remember to specify your sauce when you call.

On its Facebook page, Spitfire’s says, tantalizingly "Never know we may bring it back for curbside pickup on Wednesday with that wing night."

Steny's Tavern
800 S. 2nd St., (414) 672-7139
stenystavern.com

For ace wings in the Walker’s Point area, hit up Steny's which has its entire menu available for curbside pick-up daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. While you’re there, grab some bloodys to go, too.

TomKens
8001 W. Greenfield Ave., West Allis, (414) 258-9110
tomkens.com

If you can’t decide between great wings and great fried chicken, order online at TomKens, which is open for carry-out daily from 3 to 9 p.m., and enjoy them both.
