If you’ve been dying for a taste of Wy’East Pizza, the new restaurant at 5601 W. Vliet St. which we featured this past summer, you can get your first bite this weekend.

According to owners James Durawa and Ann Brock, the new pizza shop, which replaces Papa Joe’s Pizza & Pasta, will be hosting a soft opening this weekend.

The menu will be limited, but we’re hoping they’ll have options like the "Hot Marmot," a pizza featuring sweet and hot goathorn peppers that was their best-seller when they operated as a food truck in Portland, Ore.

Hours for the soft opening will be Thursday, Friday and Sunday from 4:30 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 4:30 to 10 p.m. Phone in orders will not be taken for the time being.

Wy’East has undergone an extensive remodel, including a fully gutted interior and a new parking lot, which is being poured this week. Once all details are in order, the restaurant will have both dine-in and carry out options, as well as patio seating.

Watch OnMilwaukee for more details as they develop.
