Chad and Missy Meier will open Meraki at 939 S. 2nd St. in Walker's Point. The fine-meets-casual dining restaurant will open in mid-November.

Only one Milwaukee pizza place appears on a new "101 Best Pizzas in America" list from The Daily Meal.

Richard Kerhin announced he will open Richard's Cafe in the Tannery Business Center, 700 W. Virginia St (suite 203). The cafe will offer primarily sandwiches and deli items.

The months old, "Now Open" banner was ruining the view, the street and the patio's look and feel. So, I tweeted about it. Respectfully, of course. And, nearly instantly, management responded.
10. Former Conejito's employees open La Casa de Alberto
La Casa de Alberto opened in the former Lopez Bakery space, 624 W. National Ave. The owners, Alberto and Laura Gonzalez, worked at Conejito's for 18 years. Alberto worked in the kitchen and Laura tended bar.

Wings Over buffalo wing franchise is moving into 1434 E. Brady St., a location in the Brady Place strip mall left vacant when UniPrice Cleaners moved to its new location.

Authentic tapas is coming to Walker's Point, thanks to three friends who grew up on the North Shore.

Milwaukee's favorite burger will soon be available in locations across town, thanks to the introduction of a brand new food truck.
17. Open Hearth is closed
For almost 40 years, Open Hearth, 2930 N. 117th St., served steak, seafood and German entrees. According to a neighbor, the restaurant and lounge closed for good around July 4.
18. YoFresh Yogurt Cafe coming to Hales Corners
YoFresh Yogurt Café will soon open at 5760 S. 108th St. in Hales Corners. This is the second YoFresh store in Wisconsin.
19. Esquire tells us what a decent restaurant meal should cost
Esquire is talking about Milwaukee again. This time it's Milwaukee dining costs. A reader from Milwaukee asked about meal prices and Esquire's Josh Ozersk threw down a great, Milwaukee-laced answer even adding that we have some of "the cheapest fine-dining places in America."
