126. On the hunt for panini: Waterfront Deli
Now that our office is Downtown, I'm checking out some new-to-me places for lunch and revisiting some old noon-hour friends, too. Today, I walked across the street to see if Waterfront Deli, 761 N. Water St., could satisfy my yen for a prosciutto panino.

131. How can I get potlucky?
I love a potluck. I love the word. I love the concept. I love (most of) the food. However, I am running out of ideas for dishes to bring. One can only make so many taco dips.

132. This editor's restaurant choices
For each of the 50 categories in the annual OnMilwaukee.com Best of Milwaukee Dining poll, we, as a team select our "editors' choice." Many of them I agree with, and some I don't. But in the spirit of democracy, I don't refute any of them. In some categories, I have very real favorites ...
133. In search of the perfect pizza: Pepi's Pizza
I own one of those Entertainment Books that expires next week, so I thought this would be a good time to start using it. As I paged through the pseudo pizzeria section, I noticed Pepi's Pizza had a coupon in there. It seemed like as good a time as any to try them out.
134. Give "Dining-at-home" Month a try
All this talk of food during OnMilwaukee.com's Dining Month has me fantasizing about my favorite places to go OUT to eat. But, frequent eating out wreaks havoc on my waistline and makes a major dent in my wallet, so I choose to cook at home.
135. Rumors still swirl about Pizza Man reopening
Despite buzz in the local real estate industry that Pizza Man will soon reopen, former owner Mike Amidzich says, at this point, it's not happening. Do you think people lost interest in Pizza Man or would they still like to see Pizza Man resurface somewhere?

142. In search of the perfect pizza: NYPD
Recently a friend of mine asked me if I had tried NYPD and simply raved about how great it was. On my first visit, which was months ago, I thought the wings were great and the pizza was average. But, I trust her palette, so I decided I should give them another try.

The East Side's Classic Slice, 1609 E. North Ave., officially closed today.
146. What I crave from the Milwaukee dining scene
I don't really have a lot of complaints about the Milwaukee dining scene. For a city of its size, Milwaukee has amazing restaurants, chefs and diversity. In fact, per capita, one would be very hard-pressed to find a city that's better. My biggest complaints, I guess, is that I don't have enough time to try everything. But if I had to nitpick, there are a few additions I'd like to see in town.

149. Lunch: The perfect time for a wild rumpus
It's always a pleasure to sample a restaurant's new menu. I find it's a bit like getting inside a chef's mind for a moment - and peering around at the ingenuity and imagination that lies there. I had the opportunity to do just that as I joined part of the crew of OnMilwaukee.com for a retreat luncheon at the Rumpus Room last week.
