This Thursday, PianoArts welcomes "Anderson & Roe Piano Duo" to the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. The New York based duo comes to Milwaukee for a one night performance of works from Bach, Mozart, Stravinsky and Radiohead.
Greg Anderson and Elizabeth Joy Roe recently released their debut album, "Reimagine," to showcase their unique approach to classical music.
Known for their interpretation of Stravinsky's "Rite to Spring," the couple's energized performances have taken them everywhere from Carnegie Hall to MTV's "Total Request Live." Both graduates of New York's Juilliard School, they've been referred to as "Fred Astaire and Ginger Roberts transposed from the dance floor to the keyboard."
This Thursday's performance makes the 10th Anniversary of PianoArts North American Competition. Pianist Elizabeth Joy Roe was a first place winner in the 1999 competition. PianoArts holds an international piano competition to highlight and identify top talent in classical piano.
The concert starts at 7:15 p.m. but is preceded by a reception at the venue. Tickets can be purchased directly through PianoArts.
