ART Milwaukee, Baylor awarded $50,000

ART Milwaukee is once of four recipients of the 2013 Joyce Awards.

The award is to honor the organization's partnership with local artist Reginald Baylor to produce the project "TypeFace," a series of paintings to be attached to abandoned buildings and homes.

ART Milwaukee and Baylor are jointly awarded $50,000 in support of the project.

The awards are given out by the Joyce Foundation to artists and nonprofit organizations based on the merit of their artistic idea, the quality of their work and an artistic process that offers opportunities for innovative community interaction.
