Asner's Milwaukee appearance canceled

Ed Asner's solo performance of "FDR" scheduled for this weekend has been canceled.

Asner was recently hospitalized for exhaustion.

A full refund for all tickets is available at the place of purchase. Please contact Ticketmaster for a refund on tickets online or visit the Milwaukee Theatre box office, 500 W. Kilbourn Ave., for a refund on tickets purchased at that location.

"We send our regrets to Mr. Asner and wish him a speedy recovery," said Wisconsin Center District President and CEO, Richard Geyer. "We hope to reschedule FDR in the future."

It`s great when a pop culture show can stay relevant long enough to be enjoyed as a kid, then enjoyed again through your kid`s eyes decades later. Because Scooby Doo was around before I was born, and my daughter`s finally at the age to watch the campy mystery cartoon, too, I not only didn`t mind sitting through Sunday`s performance of Scooby-Doo Live! Musical Mysteries at the Milwaukee Theatre - I enjoyed it almost as much as she did.

Well color me shocked, because throughout "Hyde Park on Hudson," Roger Michell`s sleazy piece of Oscar bait, I would`ve sworn it stood for filthy, dirty and rotten.
