If Milwaukee Rep actress Deborah Staples has a problem getting along with her co-stars this month, well, that could be a problem.
Staples is starring in the one-woman play "The Blonde, the Brunette and the Vengeful Redhead," which opens Tuesday night and runs through Jan. 4 in the Quadracci Powerhouse Theater.
The play, written by Robert Hewett and directed by Rep artistic director Joseph Hanreddy, was written as a series of eight individual monologues by seven characters that were affected by the actions of Rhonda Russell, the first character in the play (the redhead).
Rhonda the redhead, gets a call from husband, Graham, saying he's moved out. Lynette (the brunette) tells her that she has seen Graham in a compromising position with an attractive Russian (the blonde).
Rhonda, truly a desperate housewife, strikes her revenge and changes the lives of everyone around her. Staples, who has been with The Rep for 13 seasons, transforms into seven characters during the performance that leaves audience members questioning whether or not truth is really a matter of perception.
The Rep warns customers that the play contains adult language and themes.
Tickets for "The Blonde, the Brunette and the Vengeful Redhead" range from $10 to $40.
