The inaugural MKEfest Block Party for the Arts is set for Saturday, Aug. 12 from noon to 8 p.m., at Drink Wisconsinbly Pub in Walker's Point. Hosted by SamanthaStarr Events and MilwaukeeHome, it will celebrate local art, music and culture, while raising awareness for local art education programs.

The free event will feature live art and mural creations, a variety of food, beverage and art vendors, free activities for children, a DJ lineup throughout the day and more. At 4 p.m. there's a three-round DJ battle between DJ Adamocity and Annalog.

The two will compete for best old school mix, best creative mix and best dance mix. Walker's Point Creative Collection will design an MKE-themed mural during the event, as well.
