Coming soon: "Pinkalicious: The Musical"
There is a group of young girls who have fallen in love with another young girl who can't get enough of the color pink in her life.
It is, of course, "Pinkalicious," the minor phenomenon you can hardly avoid if you have a young girl in your life. And now you have a chance to see her action.
First Stage Children's Theatre continues its 26th season with "Pinkalicious: The Musical" at the Todd Wehr Theater, 929 N. Water St., Feb. 22 through March 24. This fun-loving musical is based on the popular book of the same name by Victoria Kann and Elizabeth Kann.
How much pink is too much? Pinkalicious Pinkerton will soon realize how much when she develops "pinkititis" from eating too many pink cupcakes and turns pink from head to toe.
What starts off as a dream come true for the pink-loving enthusiast turns into a disaster as her hue goes a little too far! Find out if her broccoli-eating brother will be able to help cure her before it's too late.
"Our production creates a playful world of excessive pink, magical transformations and dancing cupcakes," said First Stage Associate Artistic Director John Maclay, the director of this colorful musical adventure. "Our talented actors, designers and professional shops all played a part in bringing Pinkalicious, her world, her family, her friends and several dancing cupcakes to life here at First Stage."
The play features a cast of young people as well as Milwaukee's own uber-wonderful Niffer Clarke.
Tickets can be purchased in person at the Marcus Center box office at 929 N. Water St., by phone at (414) 273-7206 or online at .firststage.org. Several performances are close to selling out so patrons are encouraged to buy tickets early.
