After six years without a space, the Riverwest Art Works Artists' Association (RAA) is back together under one roof and celebrates with a Gallery Night & Day show.
The RAA Gallery, 926 E. Center St., is inside the building that was formerly occupied by the Jazz Gallery, which was a jazz club for decades.
Tonight -- Friday, July 25 -- the new gallery opens from 5 to 9 p.m. The official grand opening is Saturday, July 26, from noon to 5 p.m.
Ron Bitticks, the founder of the RAA and a painter, headlines the show. Twenty other past and present RAA members will show their work as well.
The new space will host rotating art ahows, films, performance events and more.
The RAA formed in 1980. The group occupied space on the corner of Fratney and Auer Streets until 2002, when they were forced to leave the building because of a damaged roof.
