The "X" in Theatre X stands for the unknown, and in this spirit, the group will kick off their new season with a batch of new actors and actresses in "What Matters" which runs from September 25 to October 19.

The performers will give audiences a theatrical glimpse into the minds of the young adult generation by communicating, in their own language, what matters the most to them. The show was created during a six-week workshop with X's artistic director, John Schneider.

Performances are Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays at 8 p.m.; and Sundays at 2 p.m. Thursdays and Sundays are $22 and Fridays and Saturdays are $25. Students are always $5 and opening night is "Pay What You Can Night." For tickets, call (414) 291-7800.

Theatre X also presents "Full View," a special event of the 2003-'04 season featuring Pegi Taylor and Ted Brusubardis.

Sound artist Brusubardis taped discussions about the body fascilitated by Taylor, local writer, performance artist and art model. Elements from these interviews are the core of three different 70-minute performances -- "Women Speak," "Artist's Speak" and "All Ages Speak" -- jointly called "Full View."

The show combines audio dialogue, a live performance by Taylor (which includes nudity), slides and commentary. Taylor will also lead a conversation at the end of each performance.

Each show features a wide range of voices from the Milwaukee community, including students at Rufus King High School, a 98-year-old artist Schomer Lichtner and OnMilwaukee.com's Molly Snyder Edler.

"So many people are either tremendously disassociated from their bodies or only think about the body in sexual terms," says Taylor.

"Full View: Women Seak" will run Thurs., Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m.

"Full View: Artist's Speak" is scheduled for Fri., Oct. 24 at 9:30 p.m. and Sat. Oct. 25 at 8 p.m. For these two shows, Taylor will offer free figure drawing, with free art supplies. The modeling session is from 8 to 9 p.m. on Friday and 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

"Full View: All Ages Speak" takes the stage on Sun., Oct. 26 at 2 p.m.

All performances will be performed at Theatre X, 158 N. Broadway.

Ticket prices for Thursdays and Sundays are $22 and Fridays and Saturdays are $25. Call (414) 291-7800 for tickets or for more information about the show, call (414) 278-0555.
