The Wisconsin Conservatory of Music is the oldest and largest non-profit community school of music in Wisconsin. It is dedicated to providing the finest music education and performance opportunities to the aspiring professional performers as well as to children and adults who simply want to enjoy making music.

June 20, 2016 - July 1, 2016
MPS Summer Music Institute

Grades 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12 9:00am-12:00pm Milwaukee High School of the Arts, 2400 W. Highland Ave. This two-week camp is for band, orchestra and choral students entering grades 3 – 12. Students will get a large and small ensemble experience and have the opportunity to take electives in their area of interest, choices include: jazz ensemble, improvisation, piano, recorder, world drumming, drum set, conducting, composition, fiddle music, and many more! $30 for City of Milwaukee Residents, $75 for non-residents To Register, call Student Services at 414-276-5760.

Jazz Camp

Grades 6-8 and 9-12 9:00am-4:00pm McIntosh|Goodrich Mansion, 1584 N Prospect Ave Come learn from Milwaukee’s top jazz musicians and guest artists. Participate in master classes, listening sessions, and improvisation and rhythm section workshops. Perform jazz classics in both small and large ensembles. This camp is ideal for experienced as well as amateur players. You are sure to have fun and will be amazed how great you sound by the end of the week!

Music & Art Discoveries Camp w/ Lynden Sculpture Garden

Grades K-2 and 3-5 | 9am-4pm The beautiful outdoor setting of the Lynden Sculpture Garden is the inspiration for creativity in this one-of-a-kind camp. Spend the morning singing, playing instruments and moving to music at the Conservatory’s Audubon Court location. Then, travel to the Lynden Sculpture Garden (buses provided) to create original works of music and art based on the sculptures around you. *No musical experience required

Rockstar Revolution

Grades 6-8 and 9-12 9:00am-4:00pm McIntosh|Goodrich Mansion Do you love rock-n-roll? Want to be a real life guitar hero? Realize your rock-n-roll fantasy at this quick-hitting music camp. Whether you play hard rock, classic rock, reggae, blues or bossa, increasing your stylistic awareness and ensemble skills will make your music more interesting and put you more in-demand as a performer. Come learn from and play with the pros in intensive sessions and daily master classes. Individual players will be matched with other players that share similar interests and ability, so you can be sure to fit in and make new friends who love to rock! Or, register with your whole band and take your performances to the next level.

Vocal Arts Camp

Grades 6-8 and 9-12 9:00am-4:00pm McIntosh|Goodrich Mansion, 1584 N. Prospect Ave. Your singers will experience choir, musical theater and classical music all in one place! Each day brings ensemble rehearsals in traditional & contemporary choral music together with break-out classes in musicianship, vocal technique, repertoire, character work, stage presence, performance preparation and voice coaching with our faculty of master teachers, all with the goal to help singers become well-rounded musicians and performers. Special scholarships are available for MPS students.
