Song From the Uproar

A ravishing, multi-media event, Song from the Uproar unfolds in surreal episodes drawn from the journals of Swiss adventurer Isabelle Eberhardt, whose writings reveal how her nomadic experiences in North Africa mirrored her quest for self-discovery during her short, remarkable life. Featuring mezzo-soprano Colleen Brooks as Isabelle, with Wild Space dancers, Milwaukee Opera Theatre singers, and an eclectic chamber ensemble, Song from the Uproar honors a woman of indomitable spirit through poetic vignettes, expressive dance, and a shimmering score.
