Rockabilly Festival

CCC Center Stage Series featuring JAREKUS SINGLETON Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 7:30 pm “Jarekus Singleton is an exciting new young blues guitarist with melody, hooks, swagger and a strong, original voice. His lyrics are modern, personal, acutely poetic and deeply mature.” – WASHINGTON POST At just 30 years old, Jarekus Singleton is a musical trailblazer with a bold vision for the future of the blues. Springing from the same Mississippi soil as Charley Patton, Muddy Waters and B.B. King, Singleton’s cutting-edge sound is all his own. With his untamed guitar licks and strong, soulful voice effortlessly moving from ferocious and funky to slow and steamy to smoking hot, Singleton is a fresh, electrifying bluesman bursting at the seams with talent. CCC Center Stage Series featuring FORT FRANCES Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 7:30 pm “You definitely want to keep your eyes on this band,” Bruce Warren at WXPN wrote when Fort Frances released Harbour, a self-recorded EP that landed the band on stage with a who’s who list of emerging indie rock names including The Lone Bellow, PHOX and We Are Augustines. Now, as the band prepares to release No One Needs to Know Our Name, that prediction appears to be true. Fort Frances describes their music as “sensitive rock.” Chicago-based Fort Frances frontman and chief lyricist, David McMillin, says, “The band expands well beyond their Americana roots into a bold new direction.” The band’s new EP stretches well beyond their Americana roots to unlock the potential that’s been building for the past two years with jubilant horns and dueling rhythm sections. CCC Center Stage Series featuring RAY WYLIE HUBBARD Saturday, April 9,2016 at 7:30 pm When it comes to down ’n’ dirty roots ’n’ roll, nobody in the wide world of Americana music today does it better than Ray Wylie Hubbard. After riding a decade-long career resurgence into the national spotlight with 2012’s acclaimed The Grifter’s Hymnal (#2 on the Americana Chart), the iconoclastic Texas songwriter is back to continue his hot streak with chart-climbing, The Ruffian’s Misfortune. Elmore Magazine calls his 16th album “one of the tightest records he’s ever recorded” and soon to be followed by his uproarious, hair-raising autobiography, A Life … Well, Lived. ”With a rocking new album — The Ruffian's Misfortune, …the Texas music demigod has returned at age 68 to show the young 'uns how it's done … Even when compared to friends like Willie Nelson and Jerry Jeff Walker, they don't make spirits any freer than Ray Wylie.” -ROLLING STONE Tickets: $20.00 Advance $24.00 Day of Show The Cedarburg Cultural Center is proud to announce its 2015-2016 Center Stage concert series presented by Port Washington State Bank.
