Boy Scout Energy Merit Badge

Do you know what vampire energy is? Learn about it and how the US produces power as you earn your Energy Merit Badge. Explore Discovery World’s nuclear reactor, model wind turbines, and human hamster wheels. Come see where your energy comes from and where it is going! Scouts must complete the following requirement prior to coming to the workshop in order to get their Blue Card signed: Requirement #4. Please bring proof of completed requirement to workshop.

Brownie Girl Scout Household Elf Badge

Girl Scouts will visit Discovery World’s Eco-Home to learn about different things they can do in their home to save energy, along with devising a plan to save water and create their own natural air freshener that is safe for the environment! Girl Scouts will even get a chance to design their own reusable bag made out of recycled materials from the Kohl’s Design It! Lab.

Learn the tools, techniques, and methods employed by Graphic Artists to communicate their ideas. Discover older, but still useful printmaking techniques while screen printing your own t-shirt. Then, take it straight to the digital age and learn the computer based editing software necessary to create an engaging magazine cover!

Boy Scout Weather Merit Badge

Are you a storm chaser? Have you ever wondered what causes wind, rain, hail, and lightning? In this workshop, Scouts will perform experiments to understand just how scientific weather really is. Scouts will start Requirement #8a during the workshop and will need to complete their weather log; email or mail it in after completing the full requirement.
