Lip Balm Pots of Gold

11-12pm, 1-2pm, and 2:30-3:30 pm Winter can be harsh on your lips. Come and create a custom lip balm and learn the science behind protecting your lips in teh THIRST Lab. A simple combination of oils, butters, waxes, and scents will produce a wonderful lip balm that can protect your lips from the harshest of winter winds. Design a customized label for your pot of lip balm and take it home to enjoy. Class includes two pots of lip balm per person. This lab is family-friendly. Due to temperatures used, the minimum age requirement is 7+ to participate. Adult supervision is required. Please let the instructor know of any allergy concerns.

Scouts will also perform experiments to show how to convert energy and conduct electricity. Learn how to become a professional engineer and how the Engineerís Code of Ethics is similar to the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Girl Scouts will explore design inspired by nature and the human body as they create prototypes to take home.

Engineer Webelos Activity Badge

Construct a working circuit, design a floor plan, and build your own catapult while working towards the Engineer Badge. Scouts will learn about simple machines and hear about the many different careers in engineering.

Electricity Boy Scout Merit Badge

Discover the secrets of electricity by making an electro-magnet and a light switch. Learn how to rescue someone touching a live wire, find out how to make a battery, and learn what to do during an electrical storm! Scouts will need to complete Requirements #2 and #8 prior to attending the workshop. Please bring proof of completion to the workshop so the Merit Badge Counselor can sign off on the Blue Card.
