Kohl's Design It! Lab - Professional Jeweler

Work alongside Milwaukee Metalsmith, Ivy Klarer, to learn the techniques she uses to create jewelry pendants and rings. You'll learn how to create a mold to cast resin for a unique necklace to take home at the end of the workshop. Must be 10+ to participate. Free with Membership, or with General Admission.

Boy Scout Nuclear Science Merit Badge

Explore Discovery World’s nuclear reactor model and find out how energy is created, stored, and then used. After learning the basics of nuclear fission, Scouts will design and create their own model of a nuclear reactor to take home. Learn about particular acceleration, radon detection, and x-rays as you see the many sides of nuclear science. $35 Member / $40 Non-Member

Master Brewer: All-Grain Recipe Creation

Brewing Session: Tuesday, Sep 23th from 5-10 pm Bottling Session: Tuesday, Oct 7th from 5-7pm Discovery World’s Master Brewer series guides beer enthusiasts through the creation of a specialty brew in our professional grade brewing system. This time, Matthew McCullough, from one of Milwaukee’s newest bars, District 14, will walk participants through beer recipe creation, a grain-tasting, and brewing. Come back on October 7th to bottle your beer and bring a sample home! Cost includes: Brewing & bottling, training & recipes, hors d’oeuvres, refreshments, and a one-of-a-kind pack of the resulting beverage with customized label No brewing experience is necessary. Participants must be 21 or older.

Girl Scout Brownie Household Elf Badge

Girl Scouts will visit Discovery World’s Eco-Home to learn about different things they can do in their home to save energy, along with devising a plan to save water and create their own natural air freshener that is safe for the environment! Girl Scouts will even get a chance to design their own reusable bag made out of recycled materials from the Kohl’s Design It! Lab.
