Scientist Webelos Activity Badge

Investigate Bernoulli’s Principle, Pascal’s Law, and Newton’s first law of motion through hands-on demonstrations and experiments. After the Scouts show the effects of atmospheric, air, and water pressure they’ll be able to talk to learn about careers as a scientist.

Engineer Webelos Activity Badge

Construct a working circuit, design a floor plan, and build your own catapult while working towards the Engineer Badge. Scouts will learn about simple machines and hear about the many different careers in engineering.

Electricity Boy Scout Merit Badge

Discover the secrets of electricity by making an electro-magnet and a light switch. Learn how to rescue someone touching a live wire, find out how to make a battery, and learn what to do during an electrical storm! Scouts will need to complete Requirements #2 and #8 prior to attending the workshop. Please bring proof of completion to the workshop so the Merit Badge Counselor can sign off on the Blue Card.

Milwaukee Beer Week: Mobcraft Beer

Brewing: April 23rd from 6-8pm

Bottling: May 7th from 6-7pm

In collaboration with Milwaukee Beer Week, assist Andrew Gierczak of MobCraft Beer in the creation of a custom recipe on Discovery World’s three-tier gravity fed system during this hands-on lecture. Learn about the history, method, and current industry of brewing, as well as more about MobCraft’s unique adaptation of crowd-sourced recipes. Return two weeks later to bottle your beverage and take home a sample!

Boy Scout Graphic Arts Merit Badge

Learn the tools, techniques, and methods employed by Graphic Artists to communicate their ideas. Discover older, but still useful printmaking techniques while screen printing your own t-shirt. Then, take it straight to the digital age and learn the computer based editing software necessary to create an engaging magazine cover!
