The Milwaukee Public Museum is a museum of human and natural history that interprets the world's culture and natural heritage through collections, research, education and exhibits.

Created in 1882, the museum has many interesting exhibits such as The Streets of Old Milwaukee, The Living Oceans, The Rain Forest and Butterflies Alive.

Thank You Thursdays at MPM

Milwaukee County residents receive free general admission to the Milwaukee Public Museum on the first Thursday of every month through our Thank You Thursday program. Adult residents must present valid photo identification showing Milwaukee County residency to receive free admission, and children must be accompanied by an adult showing proof of residency to receive free admission.

Ancient Worlds Overnight at MPM

A state of the art, interactive experience complete with mummies, King Tut and even a Roman charioteer awaits you during the first overnight to highlight our newest permanent exhibit gallery –- Crossroads of Civilization. During MPM’s Ancient Worlds Overnight, you'll learn how to wrap a mummy, and watch a special full-dome planetarium show that will take you back in space and time to see how ancient cultures viewed the night skies. Top off the evening with a flashlight tour of our third floor that will take you from the top of the world in the Arctic to furthest reaches of South America.

An Irish Night at the Museum

Milwaukee Irish Fest is proud to host An Irish Night at the Museum, taking place April 25, to celebrate our 35th Anniversary. Join us at the Milwaukee Public Museum for a silent auction, dynamic food stations, a hosted bar with free beer, wine and soda, and entertainment from Tallymooreand Socks in the Frying Pan! Please note, this event is limited to guests 21 and older. April 25, 2015 6:30 p.m.- Midnight Milwaukee Public Museum, 800 W Wells Street Purchase your tickets before February 7 for a special early bird rate. After February 8, tickets are $100 per person.

Mysteries Unraveled Overnight at MPM

Museums are full mysteries waiting to be solved. Every year experts unravel new discoveries about ancient cultures, creatures, and the earth itself. During MPM’s Mysteries Unraveled Overnight, you'll help us explore mysteries we think we’ve solved, those we are working on, and some that continue to baffle us. All the fields of natural science and human history come together at the museum, and you’re invited experience them all! $47 per person, $37 for members, $42 for groups (15+ booked together, in advance).
