Cuban Experience Workshop
FREE and Open to the Public After touring the Experience Cuba exhibition join the Redline artists for a free workshop. The inspiration of repurposed objects and personal messages found in the Cuban book arts show provide an entry into exploring the poetics of materiality. Work with Redline resident artists who have completed a two-month collaborative study of Cuban book arts. Their work has led them on different paths of discovery through books. They will share their handbound personal narratives as well as simple bookbinding and collage techniques. Bring personal found items such as paper, cloth, old photos etc to add to the varied materials on hand in the DIY Station of the Experience Cuba show. Participants can explore personal connections to materials as they start to develop their own material poetry.
