Wisconsin Highland Games
Wisconsin's largest Highland Games kick off Friday night of Labor Day weekend for a celebration of all things Scottish, Irish and Celtic. Come hear the mighty roar of the bagpipes, see the kilted athletes perform their feats of strength, watch the spinning, leaping Highland dancers, shoot the longbow, toss the battle axe, and grab a pint or a wee dram at St. Andrew's Pub to the sound of the music of the British Isles. There truly is something for everyone at the Wisconsin Highland Games, and as we always like to say, "You don't have to be Scottish!" Whether you're a wee bairn or an auld foggie, and whether your tastes are tea and scones or haggis and ale, we'll keep you busy with hands-on activities, demonstrations, performances, and competitions—all for one very affordable admission fee. And kids 12 and under get in free! Wisconsin Scottish, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the traditional arts, crafts, culture, heritage and traditions of the British Isles through educational activities and the production of our annual Wisconsin Highland Games. The Wisconsin Highland Games and our benefit concerts provide a forum for traditional artists and athletes, both professional and amateur, to inform, educate, entertain and compete, helping create an environment where their arts and abilities may be widely appreciated. Friday night, Aug. 30 - Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013 Friday night: 5-10 pm • Opening Ceremonies + Live Music & Party The Games: Saturday 9 am - 10 pm Sunday 9 am - 9 pm Events and competitions run Saturday and Sunday from 9 to 5, with the Pub Tent remaining open with live music.
