202. Another Christmas with John McGivern
The icons of Christmas in modern Milwaukee. Santa. Rudolph. Scrooge. John McGivern. As sure as the days getting shorter and doorbuster sales at the mall, Milwaukee's favorite funny man, McGivern, pops up in some kind of Christmas production every year. This season it is the one-man show "A Kodachrome Christmas" in Vogel Hall at the Marcus Center.
203. Sweet Water Organics presents Hongtao Zhou
Sweet Water Organics will present "Chair grows out of a hotpot," a performance by Hongtao Zhou on Nov. 22 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The Milwaukee Art Museum continues its Target Free First Thursday program this week on Thursday, Nov. 3 and next month on Thursday, Dec. 1, offering two more chances to see three great Milwaukee Art Museum exhibitions - "Impressionism: Masterworks on Paper," "Taryn Simon: Photographs and Texts" and "Building a Masterpiece: Santiago Calatrava and the Milwaukee Art Museum" - at no cost.
208. Goodman to leave First Stage managing director position
Rob Goodman, the founding executive of First Stage Children's Theater, is beginning a transition process that will see him leave the company's managing director position for an emeritus role with the group. Although no exact timeline has been set, a search has begun for his successor.
209. Children's art takes over Villa Terrace
The Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum will display artwork from a selection of Milwaukee area students in "Children's Art in the Garden," which runs Nov. 6 through Dec. 4.
210. The Rep strikes box office green and gold with "Lombardi"
They're selling cheeseheads in the lobby of the Milwaukee Rep's Quadracci Powerhouse Theater. And Packers T-shirts, caps, books and assorted tchotschkes. Theatrically lighted Packers pennants hang inside the Powerhouse. The occasion, of course, is the Rep's production of "Lombardi," the first staging of the drama since its Broadway engagement ended in May.
211. AC/DC's Johnson brings "Rockers and Rollers" book tour to The Pabst
This may not be the ear-melting metal onslaught most AC/DC fans expect from seeing Brian Johnson live, but it may prove to be just as entertaining. The Pabst Theater announced today that the AC/DC front man will appear Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. in support of his new book "Rockers and Rollers: A Full-Throttle Memoir."
212. Ten Chimneys president chosen for prestigious program
Sean Malone, the president of the Ten Chimneys Foundation, which owns and operates the historic Lunt-Fontanne estate in Genesee Depot, has been chosen to participate in a prestigious two-year national chief executive program for arts administrators. He joins executives from the American Ballet Theatre, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Norman Rockwell Museum and other organizations in the exercise.

213. Depression meets art at Concordia
To coincide with National Depression Awareness Month, Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) will display artwork from Concordia students, faculty, staff members and the public at its fourth annual Faces of Depression exhibit.

Lisa Lampanelli, the "Queen Of Mean," returns to Milwaukee for a show at the Riverside on Friday, Dec. 2. Tickets cost $36 and go one sale Friday, Oct. 7 at noon.

Rock the Green, the Midwest's near-zero waste music festival, set a new benchmark for achieving near-zero waste in this year's inaugural festival held on Sept. 18 at Veteran's Park.
217. Lyricist alters "Sunrise, Sunset" lyrics for gay weddings
"Sunrise, Sunset" from "Fiddler on the Roof" has become a wedding ceremony standard, but its lyrics don't exactly fit gay matrimonial celebrations. "Fiddler" lyricist Sheldon Harnick has fixed that by altering the words to his famous song.

Last weekend John Leaf went to the Milwaukee Tattoo Festival at State Fair Park, expecting to find out that having your nickname tattooed somewhere would likely be popular. It was ... 10 or 15 years ago.
219. Eighth annual Nohl Fellowship Exhibition to open Sept. 30
The eighth annual Nohl Fellowship Exhibition will open Friday, Sept. 30 at UWM's Institute of Visual Arts to showcase an exhibition of work by the artists who received the Greater Milwaukee Foundation's Mary L. Nohl Fund Fellowships for Individual Artists in 2010.

The Milwaukee Public Library (MPL) will once again be open for business on Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. beginning this Sunday, Sept. 25, at the Central Library, 814 W. Wisconsin Ave.

Ira Glass, host and producer of National Public Radio's "This American Life," will appear at The Pabst Theater on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday.

The Milwaukee Art Museum has two new iPhone apps. One lets users flap the museum's Burke Brise Soleil wings. The other is a Milwaukee Art Museum tour app aimed at kids and families, created in conjunction with Kohl's Art Generation.
