Event Description Join Honorary Co-Chairs Sue and Bud Selig to welcome former MLB Pitcher Jim Abbott to the 2008 POWER LUNCH on Friday, May 9th 2008 at noon at the Midwest Airlines Center! Jim Abbott was born with only one hand, but rose through the ranks from pitching on Team USA in the 1988 Summer Olympics, to pitching for a decade in Major League Baseball. He ended his pitching career in 1999 with our own Milwaukee Brewers. He is unique as a sports speaker, because of his story and his appeal to all audiences, including non-sports fans. He tells of overcoming adversity, lessons learned and anecdotes from his storied career as a professional baseball pitcher. Last year's speaker, Tony-award winner Ben Vereen, brought in one of the city's largest luncheon crowds. Get your reservations early for this extremely popular event!
