Ok, so Camp Bow Wow is actually a day care with a camping theme, but hey, whatever makes us pet owners feel better about leaving our furry friends for a few, right? (I admit however, I was imagining my feisty Fido learning to make a yarn God's Eye or a mean s'more.)

On Jan. 29, Brett Ippolite will officially open a second Camp Bow Wow – he opened the first in 2015 in Waukesha – in an 8,000-square-foot, Oak Creek-based "camp space" with 70 cabins featuring comfy cots, multiple "teacup" suites for small pups, and five indoor and outdoor play spaces.

Camp Bow Wow-Oak Creek, 8411 S. Liberty Lane, offers day ad overnight services complete with fun little extras.  "There's always a special nightly 'campfire treat' for overnight guests," says Ippolite.

This line of work is a good fit for Ippolite for obvious reasons.

"I have always had a huge love for dogs and have my own 1-year-old rescue, an English Bulldog named Buddy," says Ippolite. "I was interested in getting into the business world, and it was great to be able to include my passion for dogs."

Camp Bow Wow Oak Creek has live webcams throughout the facility so pet parents can watch their pups play at any point during the day or night. All of the play areas are indoor/outdoor so dogs can choose their environment.

"We are so excited to show our clients what makes us special," says Ippolite.

Boarding prices are all-inclusive, meaning they include daycare, meals and medication administration. A half-day costs $21; a full-day of care is $30. Prices are discounted for multiple dogs from the same family. Boarding starts at $43 per night for one dog.

Camp Bow Wow is a 17-year-old franchise with more than 200 locations in 42 states and Canada, making it the largest pet care franchise in the country.

"I'm ecstatic to be opening a second location with a company I love so much," says Ippolite. "I love everything about dogs. You can leave your house for five minutes or five hours and they will be just as excited to see you again. They really are man’s best friend."

Camp Bow Wow is open seven days a week from 6:30 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. Click here for more info.
