Common Ground to redesign and rebuild SES tutoring in MPS
State Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Tony Evers and MPS Superintendent Dr. Gregory Thornton agreed Monday night to work with Common Ground to improve Milwaukee Public Schools' Supplemental Education Services tutoring program.
Common Ground, a non-partisan organization of 40+ schools, congregations, neighborhood groups, nonprofits, unions and small businesses, will take a leading role in improving the No Child Left Behind-mandated program.
The group will work to improve the SES program's public accountability and effectiveness and make its use of funds more transparent to taxpayers.
