It turns out the lure of television isn't the only method CW 18 and My 24 are using to keep people out of the cold. This weekend, the two stations will be hosting Family Fest, a free community event, at Southridge Mall in Greendale.

While snow comes down outside, the event has a blizzard of live local entertainment planned inside, including ComedySportz, the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Irish Fest dancers, the Festival City Barbershop Chorus, St. John's Northwestern Military Academy bagpipers and "American Idol" finalist – and Milwaukee native – Naima Adedapo.

In addition, several celebrities and athletes are scheduled to appear, such as former Packers linebacker George Koonce, talk show personalities Jerry Springer and Steve Wilkos, WWE wrestler Al Snow and Dish Nation DJ Headkrack.

Family Fest will also feature games of Family Feud – with prizes for the winners – a putting green, cooking tips from Il Mito chef Michael Feker and a chance to win tickets to the Milwaukee Auto Show or Six Flags Great America. Visitors also have a chance to win a family getaway for four to Riviera Maya with all-inclusive accommodations.

The event begins Saturday, Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. and runs through 6 p.m. that night. Day two of the festivities then pick back up Sunday, Feb. 9 from noon until 5 p.m.
