Local ballet student wins top honors at the Youth America Grand Prix
The Youth America Grand Prix, America's first and the world's largest student ballet scholarship competition, has awarded Milwaukee Ballet School & Academy student Jennifer Hackbarth first place in the Junior Division.
Hackbarth, 13, worked privately with Nadia Thompson, ballet mistress for Milwaukee Ballet, to prepare for the competition, which was held this month in Chicago.
She will go on to compete in the YAGP finals at the Lincoln Center in New York City in April.
